Aston Martin Rapide Pics and Details

Aston Martin officially introduced four-door coupe Rapide and released first official photos and details. The car virtually no different from the concept presented in Detroit in 2006 - except there are no additional side intakes in front, slightly modified rear bumper.





Rapide is equipped with a 6.0-liter V12 470 hp engine with maximum torque of 600 Nm, aggregated with six-speed Touchtronic automatic transmission with optional manual shift. According to preliminary reports, the car can accelerate to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds, reach a maximum speed of 290 km / h.

Aston Martin Rapide production will begin this year in Austria, in the sale of the car appears in 2010. Prices in the UK will be about 140 000 pounds sterling.

Aston Martin DBS Volante 510HP V12

Aston Martin DBS Volante 2009 with convertible soft top, which removes in 14 seconds, will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show. To keep the car's weight down to 1809 kg it comes with the bonnet, front wings and boot lid all made from carbon fibre.





The engine of the Volante will not differ from the rest of DBS, the same alloy 6.0-litre 510 hp V12. As in the standard model, buyers can choose between six-speed manual gearbox and automatic "Touchtronic". Acceleration to 100 km/h - 4.3 seconds and a maximum speed 307 km / h.

New Aston Martin Vantage GT4

Aston Martin Vantage GT4 race car built on modification of 4.7 liter Vantage V8, received full engine management recalibration and improved exhaust system. The car features sports configured suspension and revised braking system with larger diameter discs for better cooling.



In comparison to Vantage V8, GT4 weighs 300 kg less - thanks to replacement of virtually entire standard interior finishing, with a protective steel frame, Recaro sport seats and the Lifeline Zero 360 fire extinguishing system. The first £96,645 GT4 shipments will begin in January 2009.
